Designer- Customer Experience Team
Amazon.com is seeking a passionate customer experience advocate as a senior level UI Designer for the Plogs team. The Plog is an exciting new site feature with a mission to deliver highly relevant and timely content to our customers. We need a senior designer who has experience working with large scale projects with multiple business owners, while advocating for and producing a user-centric design experience. You must provide demonstrated capability of managing interfaces with large quantities of data. Knowledge of blogs, content syndication, social networking and online reputations is a plus. You must be comfortable in an ownership position, capable of working effectively with business owners, usability specialists, developers and other designers. You will need to step into the role quickly, taking over support and extension of existing designs, as well as creating new user experiences from the ground up. You must have the ability to manage multiple projects. You must be capable of providing flow diagrams, wireframes, mock-ups and prototypes that accurately demonstrate the user experience. Excellent written, visual, and verbal communication skills are a must.
Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have a solid background in user interface design. Candidates will have a degree in graphic design or user interface design or equivalent professional experience. The right candidate will have at least 5 years of e-commerce or interactive design experience. Extensive knowledge of HTML, Dreamweaver, CSS, Visio and Photoshop is required. Functional knowledge of popular web development technologies including AJAX, DHTML and JavaScript is a plus. Perl knowledge is also a plus.
