JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION: Counselor/Case Manager Generation Seven
DEPARTMENT: Family & Child Guidance Clinic, Native American Health Center, Oakland
REPORTS TO: Clinical Coordinator
Position Status: Full Time

Position Summary:
This position requires the individual to: a.) Perform clinical duties, b.) Family and youth counseling and c.) Facilitate Talking Circles and other traditional cultural activities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Provide counseling and referrals for youth and their families.
2. Participate in a weekly inter-disciplinary case conference, presenting and discussing case material.
3. Networking with Native American and other agencies in the Bay Area, including consultation and training.
4. Participate in quality assurance activities.
5. Complete documentation related to clinical services.
6. Other activities as assigned by the clinic director.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Substance Abuse Counselor Certificate, or equivalent experience.
2. Expertise working with youth and families.
3. Experience working with Native American diverse people.
4. Willingness and demonstrated ability to facilitate Talking Circles and other activities.
Preference in hiring is given to qualified Native Americans in accordance with the Indian Preference Act (Title 25, US Code, Section 472 and 473).
