Actuate is looking for all levels of consultants - Associate, Staff and Senior - for our dynamic e.Services (Professional Services) group. The e.Services team assists our customers in implementing complex Actuate-based solutions, ranging from short-term to long-term/large scale solutions. Actuate e.Services offers a high-energy, high-paced environment with varied growth opportunities.
Our consultants analyze client requirements, design and implement software solutions for clients through the use of Actuate and related software products. Application development efforts may involve full, or partial, software lifecycle development. In addition, consulting services may be delivered in a purely advisory capacity to a client's in-house development staff.
All e.Services positions are permanent, full-time and billable consulting roles with Actuate.
All Consultants must be able to:
- Participate in system architecture design and documentation
- Write programs to fulfill scenarios already defined for application
- Perform report development and/or Actuate integration development assignments
- Perform Unit and System Tests.
- Assist client with development of and performance of Acceptance Test Plans
- Maintain configuration of released code
- Contribute re-usable code modules to Actuate's e.Services Repository
- Mentor and train Actuate clients on report development, integration tasks, and best practices
- Build and maintain positive relationships with clients
Senior Consultants must also be able to:
- Assume technical leadership role on project teams; manage and ensure successful delivery of assigned project tasks and provide guidance to more junior team members
- Manage and drive requirements definition and system design activities for larger projects, and independently perform detailed design activities on smaller engagements
- Prepare system test plans and oversee unit, system, and acceptance testing activities
- Mentor junior consultants
Qualifications:
All Consultants Must Have:
- Solid 2+ years (Staff)/4+ years (Senior) of software development experience, after college or graduate program. This includes experience in designing and developing Web-based information delivery solutions with Actuate and/or other reporting products, or designing/delivering other mission-critical IT applications as a consultant working in a project environment
- Strong Database skills on NT and Unix platforms; SQL Server, Oracle, etc. skills
- Expert-level technical background with one or more relevant core technologies (e.g., Java, C#, JSP, JavaScript, VBScript, HTML, XML, high-availability architectures, C++, object-oriented analysis and design)
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
- Availability for up to 100% travel based on project needs
- BSCE or equivalent required
- Architecture and Software Design Experience for Senior Consultants
- Project Management Experience for Senior Consultants
In addition, the following qualifications are preferred:
- MSCS Degree or equivalent
- Previous Consulting Experience
- Business Intelligence Experience
