The East Oakland Community Project (EOCP) is searching for a strong candidate to assume a position at a transitional housing site. The successful individual will function as part of a dynamic team engaged in creating an array of supportive services to assist families in achieving independence.
The Client Empowerment Specialist is responsible for coordinating client empowerment services for an assigned caseload of homeless families living at Matilda Cleveland Transitional Housing and Families in Transition Program sites. Client empowerment services include support for families in the areas of career development (e.g. education and employment), life skills and enrichment activities. The client empowerment specialist maintains a career center, meets regularly with clients, oversees special programs for children and adults that nurture a positive self-image, independence and self-determination. Master’s Degree preferred, B.A. required. Must have 3-5 year’s experience in career/development counseling, job development, and assessment.
