PURPOSE OF POSITION: Drive Class B truck, making local and regional pick-ups and deliveries. Perform daily warehouse duties (i.e.. receiving, picking orders, maintenance, physical inventory, etc.) as assigned by the Warehouse Manager.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1) Drive Class B truck locally and regionally, making pick-ups and deliveries of Food Bank product.
2) Load and unload the truck in a manner that is consistent with weight specifications and scale requirements.
3) Follow all guidelines established by the BIT and DOT inspections.
4) Monitor and maintain the safe operation of the truck, and complete necessary preventative maintenance logs.
5) Drive other Food Bank vehicles to accomplish all donation pick-ups, product deliveries, and food drive barrel delivery/pick-up.
6) Perform all daily warehouse duties: receiving, storage, agency order picking, salvage/produce sorting, receiving, and all related paperwork.
7) Load and unload vehicles.
8) Assist in supervising warehouse volunteers.
9) Perform other duties and tasks as required, including physical inventory.
QUALIFICATIONS
1) Possession and maintenance of a clean California Class B driver's license with air brakes and manual transmission.
2) Two years route driving experience in a Class B truck, preferably in San Francisco.
3) Two years previous warehouse experience combining inventory/order picking experience, safe operation of forklifts, pallet jacks, other warehouse equipment, heavy lifting, and other related warehouse tasks.
4) High school diploma or equivalent with good basic math skills.
5) Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
6) Ability to work and interact well with individuals (staff and volunteers) from a variety of socioeconomic backgrounds in a culturally diverse environment.
7) Previous supervisory experience a plus.
