CIVIL ENGINEER
Established Civil Engineering firm is seeking a Civil Engineer to join our Napa office.
Position responsibilities could include but are not limited to assisting the project engineer in generating complete package construction ready design documents and engineering studies.
Duties may include but are not limited to the following activities: design and drafting of project improvement plans for grading, drainage, septic system, erosion control, vineyard development and other related land development projects; prepare construction ready design documents, reports and calculations; perform field sampling, observation and analysis (to ensure work is performed consistent with guidelines and proper standards of care) and office tasks (technical and non-technical); gather data, analyze, run computer simulations, produce maps, charts and perform field tests using specialized instruments; write field reports, internal correspondence and studies; interact with clients and other professionals, regulators, subcontractors and construction personnel in a professional manner; manage projects by organizing and directing office and field activities.
The ideal candidate is self-motivated with a team approach. Independent thinking and a willingness and ability to take on roles of increasing responsibility are critical.
Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil or Agricultural Engineering and an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certificate or the ability to obtain an EIT certificate within six months from date of hire. Expertise in AutoCAD 2004 and Land Development Desktop and a working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel is required; 1-3 years of relevant civil engineering experience is a plus.
