Wente Vineyards is the oldest continuously family owned and operated winery in California. Based in the Livermore Valley, just 30 miles east of the San Francisco Bay, Wente Vineyards is a dynamic winery that continues to innovate, building on its proud history. In addition to producing world class wines, the winery offers wine country experiences, including a Restaurant, Events Center, Summer Concert Series, and Greg Norman designed Golf Course. Wente Family Estates is the national and international sales and marketing organization for Wente Vineyards as well as two other Livermore Valley wineries: Tamas Estates, and Murrieta's Well.
Our Catering Kitchen is currently seeking quality cooks to fill the following key seasonal positions:
Cook 1 – Requires a minimum of one year of high-end restaurant and/ or catering experience at a similar level. Two or more years of cumulative culinary experience or education is preferred. You must have an excellent background in all cooking methods. You will be expected to provide direct support to the chefs in the preparation and execution of all catered events, displaying superior time management, multi-tasking and listening skills.
Cook 2 – You must have an overall understanding of all cooking methods, a working knowledge of catering functions, and be able to adapt to new and possibly stressful situations. You must have basic knife skills and be able to successfully multi-task.
Prep Cook – Experienced or entry level, will train.
Dishwasher – Experienced or entry level, will train.
Wente Vineyards is hosting a P.G.A. Nationwide tour stop from March 26th to April 2nd, and we are looking for people who learn quickly and can work independently, with minimum supervision. We need to hire 20 to 30 staff members, so there are many different positions and shifts available. We can also be flexible about working around other commitments, such as culinary school, Etc. Individuals who perform well may be offered continuing employment, as we begin hiring for our busy summer concert and wedding season upon conclusion of the P.G.A. event.
