Job Description-
Cardoza & Company, Inc. & Performance Distribution currently has an outstanding & immediate opportunity as a Full Charge Bookkeeper. 1. Bookkeeper (Full Charge)
Job Purpose: Maintains records of financial transactions by establishing accounts; posting transactions.
Duties:
* Develops system to account for financial transactions by establishing a chart of accounts; defining bookkeeping policies & procedures.
* Maintains subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, & posting transactions.
* Balances subsidiary accounts by reconciling entries.
* Maintains general ledger by transferring subsidiary account summaries.
* A/P and A/R.
* Balances general ledger by preparing a trial balance; reconciling entries.
* Maintains historical records by filing documents.
* Prepares financial reports by collecting, analyzing, & summarizing account information & trends.
* Complies with federal, state, & local legal requirements by studying requirements; enforcing adherence to requirements; filing reports; advising management on needed actions.
* Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Job Purpose: Maximizes return on financial assets by establishing financial policies, procedures, controls & reporting systems.
Duties:
* Guides financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, & enforcing policies & procedures.

* Monitors & confirms financial condition by conducting audits; providing information to external auditors.
* Maximizes return, & limits risk, on cash by minimizing bank balances; making investments.
* Prepares budgets by establishing schedules; collecting, analyzing & consolidating financial data; recommending plans.
* Achieves budget objectives by scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
* Provides status of financial condition by collecting, interpreting & reporting financial data.
* Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing & summarizing information & trends.
* Complies with federal, state, & local legal requirements by studying existing & new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; filing financial reports; advising management on needed actions.
* Ensures operation of equipment by establishing preventive maintenance requirements & service contracts; maintaining equipment inventories; evaluating new equipment & techniques.
* Completes operational requirements by scheduling & assigning employees; following up on work results.
* Maintains financial staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting & training employees.

* Maintains general ledger accounts by monitoring account preparation; entering amortizations of repaid accounts; updating monthly retainage & general insurance accruals; preparing monthly entries for fixed asset depreciation, accruals, amortization, & cost allocations.
* Summarizes current financial status by analyzing general ledger accounts; compiling & submitting financial statements.
* Reconciles financial discrepancies by collecting & analyzing account information.
* Avoids legal challenges by complying with federal, state & local legal requirements.
* Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
* Provides financial information by answering accounting procedure questions; researching & interpreting accounting policy & regulations; determining current charging of labor & materials.
