Barbara Heidenreich in a Parrot Behavior and Training Workshop
Come join us for a day-long (6 hour intensive) seminar on parrot behavior and training! Learn basic methods and tools to teach your bird using positive reinforcement.
The workshop will cover the following:
* The basics of training- how does it work?
* How to read and interpret bird body language
* Solving behavioral problems
* Training basic behaviors
* Training to benefit the health and welfare of your bird
* Training simple and advanced behaviors for fun and more
Workshop includes lecture, video, interactive activities, written materials and live demonstrations on how to train behaviors from start to finish. An educational and fun experience is our goal. Bring your questions! This workshop encourages an open forum to analyze all your companion parrot behavior challenges and goals.
You can choose to bring a bird you wish to train, or come without a bird for a lower fee, your choice. You must pay to reserve space in advance and if you wish to bring a bird, provide vet certificate of health during past year. We are limiting the number in audience to increase learning potential of those attending.

Fees: $125 with a parrot, $25 without a parrot.

Instructor Biography:
Barbara has been a professional in the field of animal behavior and training since 1990. She owns and operates a company, Good Bird, Inc., that provides behavior and training products to the companion parrot community. These products include Good Bird™ Magazine, books, videos, consulting services and behavior workshops. She is the author of “Good Bird! A Guide to Solving Behavior Problems in Companion Parrots” by Avian Publications and also “The Parrot Problem Solver. Finding Solutions to Aggression” by TFH Publications.. She is the current president of the International Association of Avian Trainers and Educators (www.IAATE.org).
Barbara’s experience also includes consulting on animal behavior and training in zoos and other animal related facilities. Her specialty is free flight bird training. She has been a part of the development and production of more than 15 different free flight education programs. Barbara continues to provide consulting services to zoos, nature centers and other animal facilities through her other company Animal Training and Consulting Services (www.ATandCS.com). In her career she has trained animals, trained staff, and/or presented shows at facilities around the world.
