One of the best selling studio pianos of all time, Baldwin upright pianos have earned the recommendations of music teachers for many years. Nearly 500,000 Hamilton studio pianos have been sold since its introduction in 1939. Baldwin is America's largest piano builder, and sells more pianos in the United States than any other manufacturer. For decades, the Baldwin Hamilton piano has been a widely popular studio piano in the US, found in countless schools, churches and other institutions. Handmade in America, it is a staple in the educational community.
This BALDWIN HAMILTON studio upright piano, 46" tall, serial number 264,865 shows it was made in 1970. The Hamilton studio upright was built very sturdily to withstand institutional use; it has heavy duty, double wheel rubber casters that make it very easy to move. The front legs are structurally tied to the piano cabinet for added strength, and making it impossible for legs to break off during moving, as often happens with cheaper pianos. This particular piano was NOT in an institutional setting; I believe it's had only 2 previous owners, both private homes. It comes with matching bench with music storage compartment under the bench lid.
CONDITION: Structural parts are all in excellent condition - soundboard and bridges, plate, pinblock, strings and case have no flaws. Note the five huge, sturdy backposts in the photo, and clean, intact soundboard and ribs. The action mechanism has just been reconditioned by an expert piano technician (the seller), who did a complete action regulation, tuning to concert pitch, and thorough cleaning. All the parts are original because they are still in excellent condition and didn't need replacement. The hammers have very little wear. The bass strings are lively. The tuning pins are tight and it holds a tuning well. The piano has a clear, bright, powerful, ringing and sweet tone. The action is very responsive and easy to play and control its large dynamic range. The walnut cabinet is in good condition, does have some nicks and scratches but is still very good-looking.
My price is very reasonable compared to what comparable pianos sell for. If you are local you can come try it out, and/or send your piano technician to check it over. Contact seller with ANY questions.
$500.00 cash deposit will hold piano, balance due within seven days (personal check OK, but must clear before piano released). Buyer is responsible for shipping arrangements and costs; I can provide names of cross-country and local piano movers.
