General Description
KUSP is looking for two part-time employees to begin work immediately on our 30th Annual Radio Auction. This year the event runs from June 3 through June 10. This is the oldest radio auction in the west and the biggest yearly fundraising event for KUSP. Last year we auctioned off over 800 items. We partner with Community Television of Santa Cruz County (CTSCC). The auction is aired live on KUSP, CTSCC and via KUSP’s website. Each position will be paid for approximately 230 hours of work between the starting date and June 11, 2006, when the project will end. The wage rate is $17.00 per hour with no employment benefits offered.
Responsibilities
Auctions Solicitors will be expected to start immediately procuring donations of services and products from local businesses and individuals. An established database exists for this purpose although auction solicitors will be expected to add to the existing pool of donors. Other duties are expected, although solicitation work is the primary responsibility of the position. The full job description reads:
* Works under the general supervision of Auction Coordinator and provides administrative supervision of auction
* Solicit, via phone, fax, email and regular mail, donations of services and products for auction
* Establish and maintain good relationships with donors
* Fulfill mailings to auction donors
* Assist with production of auction catalog
* During auction event broadcast/cablecast, coordinate and track donor-supplied and KUSP-printed gift certificates for donated goods and services, including association of gift certificates with auction bid slips
* During auction event broadcast/cablecast, verify accuracy of item number tagging, auction slips, item descriptions, and other identifying information
* During auction event broadcast/cablecast, enter transaction information into main auction database, using computer systems provided by KUSP
