Macworld magazine, an award-winning consumer-technology monthly based in San Francisco, seeks an Associate Editor in the Reviews department with excellent editing and communication skills, the ability to work under tight deadline pressure, and a natural talent for keeping track of details. The Associate Editor will work with the Senior Reviews Editor to ramp up the quantity and quality of reviews published both in the magazine and on our Web site. This person will also work closely with freelancers assigned to write reviews.
GENERAL DUTIES:
- Manage the entire editorial process, from ordering products to overseeing the published review.
- Assign reviews to writers.
- Edit reviews and communicate with writers to ensure fairness and accuracy.
- See reviews through the online publication process and assist the Senior Reviews Editor in preparing those published online reviews for the print magazine.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum two years experience working in the media, online or print
- Knowledge of the Mac product market
- Hands-on editing style
- Very detail oriented
