Bay Area Boot Camp is an established and supportive outdoor fitness community that provides exercise guidance and nutritional education to help reach personal goals! Best known for its women's only program, Bay Area Boot Camp has recently expanded to offer co-ed programs in San Mateo and Sunnyvale. All programs are conducted in comfortable, outdoor environments, a great alternative to stuffy, crowded gyms. Bay Area Boot Camps deliver fitness instruction for all ages and ability levels as well as nutritional education and team motivation from certified coaches that are committed to success.
Offering the opportunity to meet new friends with similar health and fitness aspirations, the Bay Area Boot Camp program was developed by female athletes and certified personal trainers Heather Glenn and Mary Beth Gonzales and is designed to provide personalized fitness assessments, fitness guidance and nutritional education in a team environment. The programs, scheduled for one hour each morning, give participants a motivational and inspiring start to each day and allow for flexibility in hectic schedules.
Bay Area Boot Camp is looking to fill the following position:
Title: Assistant Boot Camp Coach
Classification: Part time, non-exempt
Hours a week: 5-15
Job Description:
• Provide Class Instruction based on Bay Area Adventure Fitness principles and standards – including proper form corrections and coaching small groups unsupervised
• Help plan daily workouts including modified options for people with special needs.
• Assist in tracking attendance
• When necessary administer pre and post camp consultations and update camper files.
• Arrive 10 minutes before class for set up and check in
• Help maintain Fitness Equipment Bag, First Aid Kit, Administrative Folder
• Convey any communication between Campers with head coach.
• Help administer fitness test
• Promote our company and its programs throughout the community
• Attend staff meetings and events
• Record and submit accurate time sheets in a timely manner and in accordance with Bay Area Adventure Fitness policies.
• Willing to travel and substitute coach at other boot camps when necessary
• Provide Injury prevention and recovery guidance
• Ability to adapt and react to all situations in a professional manner.
• Act as an ambassador in the community for Bay Area Adventure Fitness and the healthy lifestyle we promote.
• Provide a motivating environment by developing a team atmosphere.
• Ensure that the community/park rules are followed
• Discuss problems, concerns, questions, issues with your supervisor immediately
• Weekly status meetings with Supervisor
• Wear Bay Area Adventure Fitness Boot Camp Uniform
Job Requirements
• ACE/NSCA/ACSM/NASM personal trainer certification (in progress)
• 1 year experience preferred
• Completion of Bay Area Adventure Fitness training program within the first 3 months
• CPR Certification
• Strong Organizational and communication skills
• Experience coaching or teaching group exercise preferred
