ARE YOU WILLING TO DONATE Office Supplies, Cash Donations or Your Time TO A GOOD CAUSE?
Mission Dignity, a Youth-Led Peer Education and College Resource Center, is requesting in-kind donations from community businesses, community groups and individuals. We are located at 650 Alabama St. Ste. #202, San Francisco, CA 94110.
As a community-based after-school Center, run and managed by a staff of youth leaders (ages 16-21) who are beating the odds themselves, Mission Dignity serves over 1500 underserved youth during the year and works with over 6 high schools in San Francisco. We are working to counter the current challenges inner city youth face today: academic failure, the rise in high school drop out rates, violence among and against youth, exposure to a range of dangerous drugs and drug and alcohol use, the low rate of college admissions for youth of color, poverty and the lure of joining gangs. Our youth leaders and adult directors provide young people, ages 13-23, with mentoring and peer advising services, tutoring, college assistance/college advising, youth development training, leadership and career training, employment, internships, and free use of our office resources (e.g. computers, printers, copy machine, fax machine, internet).We provide all of our services in Spanish and English. We are in need of the following in-kind office supplies and center supplies:
• Laser copier paper ( 8 1/2 x 11)
• Phones (cordless, speaker)
• Pens
• Paper Plates
• Paper Cups
• Pencils
• Forks, Knives, & Spoons
• Spiral pads and legal pads
• White paper (8½ by 11)
• File folders (manila and colored)
• Paper clips
• Post its
• Graphing paper
• Cartridges for copier and printers (Canon copier PC1061, Lexmark E322 Printer)
• Brother Label maker tape refills (M tape white 12mm ½ inches)-White, Silver,
• Healthy Snacks (popcorn, chips, sodas, juices, trail mix, fruit)
• Calculators (standard, scientific, graphing)
• Books (advanced algebra, trigonometry, calculus, chemistry, biology, physics)
• Label maker and label maker tape refills
• Vacuum
• Yearly Planners
We rely on community support from business and non-profit professionals to partner with us to provide the important services we offer. We are recruiting volunteers who are interested in working with our youth staff, center members and adult directors in the following areas:
• Math Tutoring, Technology Support, Website Development and Management
• Database Management, Fund Development, Strategic Planning
• Administrative Support, Event Planning, Government Grant Writer
