I am an Apple certified independent contractor who has been working on Macs and Apple equipment for over 15 years. I have worked in a variety of industries, from non-profit companies to Film stages and Audio editing. From upgrading G3's to maintaining Xserve-based networks. I also install, design and maintain home networks and Mac-based multimedia systems. (Are you interested in listening to the contents of your Ipod player piped into your kitchen in full stereo? Would you like to record last night's episode of "West Wing" and watch it on your Video Ipod on the way to work? These technologies exist, and we can discuss the possibilities.)
I can advise you on the choice between an upgrade and a new machine. I will take the time to patiently explain the differences between the two, involving cost, effort and longevity. When you have made the decision, I can install hardware or software upgrades, new machines, configure Internet access, and take care of almost any mail/address/bookmark migration you might need.
I will advise you, or build from scratch a home network, wireless or ethernet cabled, whichever suits your needs.
My software experience includes knowledge of configuring all Mac OS versions from OS 8 forward, including Tiger. I am familiar with Mac OS X server, Dreamweaver, Filemaker, Pro Tools, MS Word/Excel/Powerpoint, Now Up to date, Retrospect, Timbuktu, ARD, Photoshop, and many other applications. I have experience in maintaining websites and in creating automation scripts.
Other experience includes troubleshooting peripherals, including Palm handheld, wireless base stations, printers and scanners.
Or I can simply give you an explanation of how things work... I have experience in tutorials on a variety of subject and will customize to suit. Anything from one person on a new Mac to an organization with a new network.
