AmeriCorps VISTA at I Have A Dream-SF
I Have A Dream-SF: To Dream; to Empower; to Achieve
San Francisco’s “I Have a Dream” Foundation provides long-term academic, socio-emotional and financial support to a class of 69 Dreamers currently in the 8th grade. IHAD-SF has worked with this same group of Dreamers from third grade and will stay with them until they graduate from high school and transition to college.
The program provides Dreamers with a variety of support systems including academic advising, an after-school program, individual tutors and mentors, enrichment activities, field trips and scholarships for private schools. Through these programs, IHAD San Francisco ensures that local youth acquire the life skills necessary to obtain a higher education, realize their full potential and help improve their communities.
