Hi,
As part of my New Years resolution to lose weight I am interested in having my metabolism (RMR) professionally tested so I can know once and for all what my caloric intake should be. I am looking for 2-3 other individuals who would might like the same information for themselves. If we have the test done as a group we can collectively save on the cost of the test ($55 versus $70 individually).
If interested in getting tested or for details on the test and how it can help with any nutrition / weight loss / eating plan just drop me an email.
I would like to get the test done this week or next week if possible. The actual testing can be done at your home, office, or other convenient location.
P.S.- Before anyone writes me back saying I can have the test done at a local gym for$40 or $45 using the BodyGem device, I already know that and have had several done myself. It was a total waste of my money.
Unfortunately I did not do my homework prior to those tests and since then have found out how inaccurate that device actually is. Published documentation shows that device to have standard error of 32.7 ml/min.(227 kcal/day )when tested at only a SINGLE test condition. What is worse, that device requires a breathing rate of less than 25 breaths per minute and a breathing volume between 500 and 1500 ml. The standard breath volume for a healthy adult male is 500ml which therefore leads to false readings for females or males with smaller lung volumes.
Our testing will be done by a company

that utilizes a table top medical grade device which has a more accurate oxygen sensor and which has a documented standard error of only 6.6 ml/min. (46 Kcal/day)when tested over a WIDE RANGE of breathing conditions. Breathing rates can be as high as 40 breaths per minute and the unit retains published accuracy with breath volumes as low as 200ml and as high as 3000ml. We will each receive a hard copy printout of our individual results. To me the more accurate reading seems worth the extra $10-$15. that utilizes a table top medical grade device which has a more accurate oxygen sensor and which has a documented standard error of only 6.6 ml/min.
