East Bay Marketing Firm is seeking a highly efficient, detail oriented accountant. The perfect fit will be someone who has a passion for accounting and meticulous organization, and also has experience working with the CEO/owners of small, service corporations.
General Requirements:
- B.S. in Accounting
- Minimum 5 years accounting experience with small business
- Experience reporting directly to officers or board of directors
- General practicing knowledge of general business law, insurance (liability, E & O, worker’s comp, etc.), HR, and employment laws & regulations
- The ability to work autonomously and without direction to maintain the financial solidarity of the company
Skill Set:
- High level financial reporting, plus analysis of costs and resource efficiency
- Day-to-day financial operations, including the management of AP and AR
- Detailed forecasting of sales, COGS and expenses
- Tax preparation and planning
- All aspects of payroll – calculation of withholding and employment taxes, payroll tax deposit, worker’s comp insurance & audits, and account reconciliation
- Filing of all payroll tax returns – quarterly and annual
- Knowledge of California sales tax law and how it applies to the advertising industry
- Filing of sales tax returns and calculation of prepayments
- Advanced knowledge of the following: Microsoft Excel, FileMaker Pro and QuickBooks for Macintosh
- Above average computing skills and the ability to learn new systems quickly
