88 rx7 race car chassis (san rafael)

Title 88 rx7 race car chassis (san rafael)
Category Cars & Trucks, Etc. : Race & Rod
Created 03/15/06
Description this is the rolling chassis for my old rx7 race car. i blew the motor 2 years ago and havn't touched it since. i do not have the time or the money to race it at the moment so i am getting rid of it.
so here is the good stuff
- 1 5/8" .120 wall main hoop and rear down bars (mounted to 1/8th inch steel plate)
- 1 5/8" .120 wall tubing betweent the rear strut towers (mounted to 1/8 inch steal plate
- 2" .120 wall square tube tieing the front and rear stub frames of the car together. cleverly sunk into the old hat channel and welded the entire length of the car on both sides
- aluminum front strut tower brace by racing beat (removable)
- front shocks are 4 way adjustable GAB with 1/2 inch lowering springs and roughly a 20% increase increase in spring rate. they are variable rate springs.
- same in the rear except for that the shocks are 8 way adjustable
- GAB sway bars front is 1 1/8th inch rear is about 7/8th inch
- the rear diff is i believe a 4.11 with viscous posi. but it may be a 4.33 with viscous posi. i can't remember wich.
- aluminum 14 lb flywheel and ACT pressure plate with clutch have under 10k on them. the counter weight is for an 88 turbo motor. thats the low compression motor.
- holley fuel pump capable of 244 lph. roughly 800 hp
- the injectors on the motor are 550 cc and 720 cc
- computer is reprogrammed to accomidate the injectors, remove rev limit, and remove fuel cut at boost pressures over 8.5 psi (frequently the cause of death for these motors) and a more agressive ignition curve
- straight body. never been wrecked!
- aluminum hood. light weight vehicle in general.
- aluminum koyo radiator

the bad stuff
- you couldn't use the damn motor for scrap metal. it is in every way waisted.
- it has a bent tie rod in the front left. i have an extra but it will need an alighnment afterwords
- the wiring harness works, but im not terribly fond of it. it was reconstructed by hand due to a turbo melt down. and the part of the harness near the turbo is now insulated with fiberglass. good and bad i guess. but i would rather run a stand alone.
- the car has been left outside so it will take some time and some steel wool to remove the rust from the fabricated chassis components. but they clean up beutifully

the impartial
- i have a rebuildable core motor if you need it for a core charge. or if you want to rebuild one yourself. both turbo and NA motors available. or if you desire i can build motors for you, but its not cheap. so you had better want one hell of a motor.
- i have the transmission that came with it but anybody who has driven one of these knows that they blow up at 12k rpm and are crap. where i you i would put a getrag in it. i can get you one but it will cost you.

...
thats about it. if you have any questoins about it just call and ask. the car is in san rafael. and we can discuss a fair price. im not asking for anywhere near what i have into it. so make an offer.
thank you
Casey
