-Description-
401 cubic inch "Nailhead." Less than 10,000 miles on rebuild. Rebuilt to
stock by Dave Haver of Bayshore Racing Engines plus mild Elgin cam.
325 hp and 445 ft/lbs of torque. Pertronix electronic ignition
concealed inside the distributor cap. Taylor Spiro Pro red spark plug
wires. Edelbrock 600 cfm square bore carb. Powder coated and
professionally hand painted air cleaner with "palladium" silver leaf
and K&N air filter. One of a kind air cleaner - you'll not see another
one like this. K&N oil filter with only the finest Kendall motor oil
and premium fuel used. No expense spared. Grade 8 bolts used
wherever possible. Flowmaster dual exhaust.
Very desirable "Switch pitch" variable stator ST400 transmission (TH400
equivalent). Only produced for 3 years, this 3spd automatic
transmission has a solenoid that switches from low stall to high stall
stators when activated (currently wired to the brake light switch).
This effectively gives you a gear lower than first for awesome off the
line power while maintaining 3.08 highway gears. Returns to low stall
approx. 2 seconds after brake lights go off. This also prevents
creeping at stop lights.
Engine painted with the finest Por 15 Buick Green engine paint and
exhaust manifolds painted with Por 15 suede grey manifold paint (look
really nice together). New water pump, re-cored radiator, rebuilt and
balanced 2 piece drive shaft. 3.08 rear differential and rear axles
rebuilt by Rear End Specialties with new rear wheel bearings. New cap
and rotor, brand new fuel pump, brand new battery, brand new shocks.
**Also available at additional cost - 1966 (one year only) spread bore
intake manifold with 850 cfm Edelbrock quadrajet carb. This
combination gives you more high end power and better fuel economy
(during normal driving). Both carbs come with rod, jet, and step up
spring race calibration kits.
19" Flex-a-lite fan plus electric push fan. Auto meter gauges (oil
pressure, volts, water temp, and tach) all nicely concealed under the
dash. They could easily be removed with no visible trace for the
original look. I have made every attempt to make it easy to return
this vehicle to absolute stock with no visible traces of modifications
should a future owner so desire.
Brakes work great with no fade. Engine doesn't overheat. Interior is
very presentable but needs attention for the discerning enthusiast.
Sheep skin covers on the front seats. All glass and chrome are in
great condition. Left front fender and left door skin have been
replaced (original door) and are painted white but do not match
perfectly. Otherwise, clean looking. Could use paint in the future
but is very drivable as is. No chrome or interior pieces that I can
think of are missing. This is a very complete car down to the original
scissor jack and glass water bottle inside the engine compartment.
Comes with original AFB carb, original snorkel air cleaner, original
fan and extra parts including new window felts, set of 4 NOS interior
dome light lenses, and halogen headlights. Original owner's manual.
Copy of 1965 Buick service manual. Has an 8 track player in the glove
box with several great Aretha Franklin etc 8 tracks. Amoeba on Haight
has a large selection at roughly $2-5 ea.
This car is great for weekend drives up the coast, terrorizing your
neighbors, or slam it and give it a suede paint job and I'll see you at
Billetproof.
