Richie Rich is a gem of a discovery for Bay Area residents. Here is an ethical, extreamely competent mechanic-- someone who is avidly concietioous about overcharging the unknowing customer. I read a review of Rich's services posted by another very satisfied customer on Craigslist and gave Rich a call.
Without having met him, I had my old car with a blownout engine towed it to his place 35 miles away. He resuscitated it into a great working automobile-all for a fraction of what other mechanics charge. Rich is certified, A member of the Better Business Bureau and believes in promoting healther business practices in tha Bay Area.

Just writing to say thanks very much indeed for the work you did on my Sebring last Friday. I got it up to a top speed on the way home. Wow - it feels like a completely different car! Handles way better at speed and much less of a bumpy ride and sense of drifting around the road.

Hey There, This guy is a good mechanic. Excellent work! Excellent Price! And Excellent turn around time. He replaced the power steering pump and alternator in my Lexus SC 400 in just a few short hours and my car is running better then before. I do plan on using him again. I have a JAG V12 -XJS 1990- A very sophisticated and complicated car to work on- Most of the Mobile Tech's refused to work on it-and were scared to touch it! (one tried and failed) Jag Dealers charge a lot for work on this car-which I could not afford! Car had no power,and was running on 6 instead of 12 v's
No problem with Richie came over-spent a little time with the car....figured out what it needed,which was a Rotor Cap ,and a few other things......He got the parts for me at a great price-and Bingo! Car is back on the road running Smoooth.....He even did a few extra things for me,and he was a pleasure to work with... Make sure you tip him too-he deserves it.
Ill have him back for any future problems.

When my Honda broke down in a shopping center parking lot and having contacted another mechanic and tow truck driver that both tried to screw me over, I finally found Rich on Craigslist. Not only did he make himself available to meet me when I was able to get over to the car, but he waited while I got lost on my way to him (new in the area!) When I got there he could tell right away I needed to have it either towed to a shop or where he could work on it for me. I choose to have him look it over at his place and left the car in his hands.
The next day, which happened to be a Saturday, he spent the entire morning searching for an alternator, '89 Honda apparently isn't the easiest to find. He installed the alternator and replaced my power steering hose at no additional cost! Not to mention fixed the timing a little and checked out other possible issues with my car.
When I got there to pay him, he charged just over $300 for all the work including the alternator (which at cost is $190).
Rich is an honest, dependable no B.S. mechanic. The fact that I'm female, I don't usually run into mechanics that don't try to rip me off, Rich worked hard and charged very little.
I'll never have another mechanic work on my car, I've told others about him already as well.

I first used Rich's auto services when I thought I needed new radiator hoses. Another garage recommended this repair. Upon inspection Rich informed me the hoses were fine and did not need to be replaced. Since then he has replaced our vehicle's timing belt (waterpump too) and value gasket. I have been happy with his service. He is knowledgeable, polite, and honest."

I just purchased a car for my 16 yr old daughter and I took it in to a reputable diagnostic company. They quoted me $1,800 of repairs backed by their 24K miles or 2 year guarantee. Some were valid repairs but a few were quite laughable. $90 to maintenance a battery, meaning water/baking soda/brush and about 10 minutes of labor. I did get the major repairs taken care by another reputable company but unfortunately I wish I would have discovered Richie Rich first. Rich came out last Saturday to diagnose a slight shifting problem. Upon his inspection, he discovered a small gas leak but did not have the right hose. He drove to a nearby auto store, replaced the hose and added some ATF to the oil. He recommended that I should have the transmission fluid change but did not offer his service. I inquired if he can do it and he said yes but I would have to drop the car at his house. He stated he would also do a complete inspection because he also has a daughter that will be driving soon. I asked Rich was the total that I owe him and he said nothing. It was just an hour of his time and the hose was just a few dollars. People like these rarely exist today.

week since my Pickup truck broke down.
He rebuilt the engine for 1/2 the cost of any other shop. Above all,
he seemed very Honest and Trustworthy.
