I am looking for a roommate to share a two-floor, 1 1/2 bathroom townhouse in the Montclair area of Oakland. The bedroom is large, sunny, there is a huge closet and two separate phone lines that can be activated, and a cable hook-up. The room has been freshly painted and new blinds have been put in. The apartment is carpeted, there is a dishwasher in the kitchen and a balcony off of the living room.
There are no laundry facilities, you would have to go to the laundromat, there are several good ones near by, and parking is on the street. Various express buses are 2 blocks away. The freeway (Hwy 24) is also 2 blocks away. The neighborhood is a lovely hamlet-like area, very safe.
Rent on the room is $585. I usually ask for first and last month's rent to move in, but this is negotiable. Additional shared bills are PG&E, cable, garbage (paid every 3 months), you would get your own phone, I don't like to share my phone, and I have DSL. You could share my DSL line or get your own in the bedroom. Also, I like to share common house items like cleaning and bathroom supplies.
I am a single straight working female at UC Berkeley. The apartment is 5 miles from the campus. Students or other UC staff are welcome, and car-pooling is possible. I am clean, easy-going, enjoy music, films, books, theater, health, nutrition and exercise. I don't smoke, occasionally have a glass of wine or beer, and I am 420 friendly. I also have indoor-outdoor cats. I am spiritual, not religious.
I am looking for a considerate, clean roommate, willing to do their share of the housework in a rotational schedule, gainfully employed and able to pay their bills, that is cat-friendly. If you have a female cat, that would be fine, please, no male cats. If you smoke, it will have to be outside. If you have a lover or a friend you would like to stay over sometime, that is fine, so long as they don't move in and they aren't here every day. I am child friendly if you are a single parent. A child is welcome. No dogs are allowed here.
I have no food issues or restrictions. I am not a vegetarian. You can cook whatever you like so long as you clean up after yourself. I am a direct communicator and do not work well with passive-aggressive people.
