Tri-Valley Science and Engineering Fair Sweepstakes Winner, 2001
As a team wrote and conducted a detailed research plan studying the behavioral relationship between emotion and memory.
Intel International Science and Engineering Fair Finalist, Third Place, 2001
Competed against 1,400 students from more than 40 countries at the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair.
Presented our research project to several judges and a local news team over the course of the three-day event.
Internship: Biological Research Assistant, June 2001 to August 2001
Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, Livermore, California
- Provided research support in development of two biomedical products; a retinal prosthesis designed to improve retinal degeneration and a drug delivery system.
- Designed potential drug delivery systems using Engineering Pro 2000.
- Created and presented a thirty minute Microsoft Power Point presentation based on my research to the Electrical Engineering and Biology Departments at LLNL.
WORK HISTORY
Six year track record of excellent performance as a part-time employee concurrent with full-time college and high school enrollment. Jobs included grocery cashier, waitress, food preparation and delivery.
Recent employment: Wine Sales Representative, Feb 2005 to Dec 2005, L’Aventure Winery, Paso Robles, California.
- Primarily worked in the tasting room, providing information to customers about wine from both a viticulture and an oenology perspective
- Gave presentations about L’Aventure’s wines to groups of 25-30 people
- Spoke to customers of all ages and all ranges of wine experience and knowledge
